What people ask before their first order.

Is the $25 minimum on every order, or just my first?
Pay-as-you-go orders have a $25 minimum. If your bag comes in lighter than that ($24 of wash & fold + dry cleaning), we round up to $25 — that's the minimum charge. Fold Club members have no minimum on any pickup. One bag, one shirt, eight bags — same locked rates.
When is the service fee charged?
The $3.99 service fee applies to pay-as-you-go orders under $35. Orders $35+ are exempt. Fold Club members never pay a service fee on any pickup — it's bundled into the membership.
How do you measure the wash & fold weight?
Every bag is weighed at our facility on a calibrated commercial scale, photographed, and the weight is shown on your itemized digital receipt. If something looks off, dispute it from the receipt — we'll re-weigh and refund within an hour.
What's the difference between hang-dry and regular wash & fold?
Wash & fold is machine-washed and machine-dried (priced per pound). Hang-Dry is a delicate hand-wash with air-drying — the same care you'd give silk or activewear at home. Hang-Dry is priced per garment ($4 PAYG / $2 Club add-on) and stacks with your dry cleaning order.
Why is dry cleaning tier-priced instead of per garment?
A linen blouse and a wool blazer take very different effort. Tier pricing is fair to both you and us — you don't get gouged on simple items, and we don't undercharge on complex ones. Tiers are fixed per garment-type so you always know what next week's bill looks like before you bag up.
What if my item doesn't fit any tier?
Specialty items (wedding dresses, vintage pieces, alterations, complex household items) are quoted before processing. Text us a photo at (866) 411-6254 and we'll quote it before pickup so there are no surprises. Fold Club members get a standing 20% off any quote.
Can I mix wash & fold and dry cleaning in one bag?
Yes — toss everything in. We sort it at the facility. Wash & fold goes through one process, dry cleaning through another, and both come back to your door together (W&F next-day or same-day for Club, DC in 2–3 days standard or same-day rush).
When does Fold Club start paying for itself?
All-In Club ($29.99/mo) breaks even at roughly $90–$100/month of pay-as-you-go spend, including the $3.99 service fee and any same-day rush fees you'd otherwise pay. Most members hit that on their second pickup of the month. The savings calculator above will give you a precise number based on your actual usage.
Are LA and SF prices the same?
Yes — Fold prices are identical across both metros. Same per-pound rate, same dry cleaning tiers, same Club rates, same household rates. The only thing that varies by neighborhood is which delivery windows are available on a given day.
When am I charged?
For one-time pickups: we charge after we weigh and process your order — usually the day of return. For Club plans: the membership fee is charged on your first pickup day each month. We never charge anything at signup, and you can cancel any time before that first pickup.
