Short answer: in San Francisco the main laundry pickup choices are Fold (per pound, next-day return from its own facility), Rinse (evening pickup, about 3–4 days) and Poplin (a marketplace of independent Laundry Pros, 24-hour standard). HappyNest, a common pick in Southern California, doesn’t list San Francisco on its California service list.

What matters most in San Francisco

Stairs, buzzers and doormen: a lot of SF buildings mean leaving a bag with a front desk or behind a gate. Ask whether the service saves your gate code and access notes (Fold does) so you don’t repeat them every week.
Small apartments, small bags: per-pound pricing means a light week costs less; per-bag pricing is better value only when you fill the bag.
Fog and hang-dry: delicates and merino shouldn’t go in a hot dryer. Fold’s Hang-Dry option and Rinse’s hang-dry service both cover it.
