1. Accepting these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a contract between you and Fold Laundry, Inc. ("Fold," "we," or "us"). By creating a Fold account, scheduling a pickup, or using foldlaundry.com or the Fold mobile app (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Fold account. If you are using Fold on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
2. The service we provide
Fold offers pickup, professional cleaning, and delivery of wash & fold laundry, dry cleaning, hang-dry, and household items in select markets. Service availability, pickup windows, and turnaround times depend on your address and the items you send.
We do our best to handle every item with care, follow garment care labels, and call out anything that needs special attention before processing. We are not a manufacturer or retailer of clothing — we are a cleaning and logistics service.
3. Your account
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information in your Fold account, including your name, contact details, and address. Keep your password confidential. You're responsible for all activity on your account.
You may close your account at any time from the My account page or by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account for repeated chargebacks, prohibited items, abuse of our team, or other material breach of these Terms.
4. Orders, pickup, and delivery
Scheduling
You schedule a pickup window through the Fold app or website. We'll send you a text confirmation and a driver-ETA update on the day of pickup.
Bagging and access
Please leave your bag accessible at the pickup spot you indicated (door, lobby, doorman, etc.). If a driver can't reach the bag, we may need to reschedule and a missed-pickup fee may apply.
Turnaround
Standard turnaround is 48 hours for wash & fold and 3–5 business days for dry cleaning, depending on items. Holidays and severe weather can extend timing — we'll notify you proactively.
Delivery
We deliver to the address on the order. If no one is available, we'll leave the bag at the agreed spot. Once delivered, the order is your responsibility.
5. Pricing and payment
You authorize Fold to charge the payment method on file for your orders, applicable taxes, tips, and any fees disclosed at checkout. Final pricing for itemized services (e.g. dry cleaning) is determined after intake at our facility; if any item materially changes the cost, we'll send you a quote to approve before processing.
Subscription tiers (Fold Club) renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime from the Fold Club page in the app. Refunds for unused subscription time are not provided unless required by law.
6. Care, claims, and our limits of liability
We follow the care label on each garment. We are not responsible for damage caused by the manufacturer's defects, pre-existing wear, or items that lack a care label.
If an item is damaged or lost in our care, please report it within 7 days of delivery through the Help center in the app. We will work with you in good faith to resolve the claim.
Where we are responsible, the maximum we will pay for a damaged or lost item is ten (10) times the cleaning charge for that item, capped at $250 per item and $500 per order, except where a higher minimum is required by law. This is the customary industry limit and reflects the unverifiable nature of garment values at intake.
EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY LAW, FOLD'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOLD IN THE 6 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. FOLD IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
7. Text messaging (SMS) program
When you create a Fold account, you agree to receive service and marketing auto-sent text messages from Fold at the mobile number you provide. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time on the My account page or by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance or contact us at the address below. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of using the Service.
8. Prohibited items and prohibited uses
Do not include in your bag: items contaminated with hazardous chemicals, bodily fluids that present a biohazard, fur, leather, suede, ammunition, currency, jewelry, electronics, or anything illegal. We are not liable for items in these categories left in your bag.
You agree not to use the Service to violate any law, infringe anyone's rights, harass our team, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
9. Intellectual property
The Fold name, logo, website, and app are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service without our written permission.
10. Disputes, arbitration, and class waiver
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
You and Fold agree that any dispute relating to the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS in San Francisco, California, under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules. You and Fold each waive the right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration. Small-claims court matters are excluded from this clause.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of creating your account by emailing legal@foldlaundry.com with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out."
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in-app message at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
